Blackmores announces appointment of Richard Henfrey as new CEO

Blackmores chairman Stephen Chapman announced today the appointment of Richard Henfrey as the company’s new CEO, following the resignation of former CEO Christine Holgate.

Prior to his role as CEO, Henfrey was COO at Blackmores, and held executive team positions across its Strategic Sourcing and People and Strategy departments.

Chapman said, “Richard has been at the forefront of Blackmores’ strategy development for more than eight years and has driven key business projects that positioned us well for the transformation of our business over that time.”

Before joining Blackmores, Henfrey was the board president of industry association Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA) from June 2011 to December 2015.

He was also technical sales director (Telstra Business) at Telstra Corporation, where he subsequently became GM of Business Sales NSW and GM of Marketing Strategy (Telstra Business and Government).

Henfrey expressed that he is “delighted to have been appointed as the next leader of this outstanding business”.

“I come to the role with great enthusiasm and confidence in the long-term prospects for our business and the industry as a whole. My focus in taking this role is to continue to expand our operations, invest in product development, extend our research and education capabilities and to showcase Australian health innovation on a world stage.”

Blackmores full-year financial results will be announced on 29 August this year.
