The company's Edge and Revive products have largely been sold through e-commerce and on a subscription basis.
But Dr Peter Chen, centre director of Crawfurd Medical — one of the clinics now stocking the supplements — said a growing interest in integrated medicine and holistic wellness care in Singapore means patients are now actively looking for protective and preventative measures against age-related changes such as cognitive decline.
“Many people are afraid of ageing. We focus mostly on what we can see on our skin and hair, but forget about the brain. The brain controls our body's processes, and it starts to age as early as in our 20s," he said.
Edge and Revive contains Panax ginseng, Gotu kola, alpha-lipoic acid, selenium and vitamin E.
Dr Shawn Watson, founder and CEO of Senescence Life Sciences said: “Brain supplements provide a support system to our healthy lifestyle. As we continue to choose healthier food options and exercise regularly, it is important that we protect our brain as well."
Dr Watson, a neuroscientist, previously told us the ingredients in the supplement were chosen for their ability to pass human digestion, high bioavailability, and known capability to pass the blood-brain barrier.
