DSM's new APAC appointment to help 'drive regional growth'
According to DSM, The appointment is part of the company's push for accelerated growth in the region, drawing on Sundaresan's extensive experience in driving revenue, profit, and market share performance in various organisations around the world.
He will be based in Singapore, which houses DSM Nutritional Products' regional HQ and Innovation Application Centre, which opened in 2015.
Impressive track record
Sundaresan's career began at energy software firm Merrick Systems, after which he joined Dow Chemicals in 2008.
There, he progressed from senior marketing and commercial leadership roles to a position as Global Business Director (Polyols) in the US. He then took on other roles in China and Thailand, which gained him considerable exposure to markets in Asia, the Middle East, and the US.
Innovation in human nutrition
In an official media release, DSM's Global President of Human Nutrition & Health, Jeremy Xu said: "Asia Pacific is a high growth economy, with great opportunity to innovate solutions and improve the impact on our operations.
"As we continue to accelerate growth in strategic areas, DSM is happy to welcome Anand onboard, and we believe that his experience and track record will be invaluable to build on our solid growth path."
DSM's Human Nutrition arm featured heavily at the recent NutraIngredients-Asia Omega-3 Summit in Singapore, focusing on the importance of prenatal omega-3 intake for maternal and infant health, as well as how best to accelerate omega-3 growth in APAC.
