Botanical Product of the Year: King Agaricus 100
Botanical Product of the Year: King Agaricus 100

King Agaricus 100 is a product by Japanese firm Toei Shinyaku. It contains the medicinal mushroom ‘Agaricus blazei’ (subrufescens or brasiliensis) which is cultivated in the wild nature. It contains much more beta-glucan and vitamin D and has strong antioxidant activity. 

Citing 30 published papers, including human trials, the company said the mushroom could boost the immune system, mitigate the side-effects of the chemotherapy, as well as to protect the liver and heart, 

Our judges were impressed by the commercial success and a number of peer-reviewed papers.

Omega Health, a product by Vitality Wellness, is a plant-based omega-3 made from blackcurrant seed oil. 

It contains omega-3-6-9 and has shown to relieve rheumatoid arthritis, premenstrual pain, menopausal fluctuations, and maintain smooth skin, shiny hair, and strong nails. 

Our judges liked the plant-based nature of the product and its future growth prospects by targeting conditions such as dermatitis and arthritis.

Probiotic Product of the Year: BNRThin, BNRThin Pro

BNRThin, BNRThin Pro are products by South Korean firm AceBiome. The active ingredient is Lactobacillus gasseri BNR17™, which is originated from the human breast milk.

It is the first probiotic acknowledged by South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (KFDA) for body fat reduction. Clinical evidence has shown that it can reduce visceral adipose tissue, waist and hip circumference, body weight and body mass index (BMI), while ameliorating diarrhoea-irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  

Our judges admired the commercial success and science behind this product, designed to aid weight loss.

Sports Nutrition Product of the Year: CurraNZ

CurraNZ® is a 100% natural New Zealand blackcurrant extract for aiding sports performance. Over 20 gold-standard studies have been performed on CurraNZ®, eight of which formed the basis of a meta-analysis study that highlighted the supremacy of CurraNZ® amongst sports performance-enhancing supplements.

Extensive research, good traction and even great scope for future growth were admired by the judges.
