Glucose control for healthy ageing: Phynova Group eyes Asia expansion amid major award win
Phynova Group, the winner of the healthy ageing ingredient of the year award in this year’s NutraIngredients-Asia awards, says there are huge opportunities in Asia for glucose controlling products due to heightened consumer awareness.
The British life science company took home the healthy ageing Ingredient of the Year during last week’s NutraIngredients-Asia award ceremony.
Its white mulberry leaves extract ingredient trademarked Reducose was competing against AquaCelle-Q10 from Pharmako Biotechnologies and Olive Fruit Maslinic acid from Nippon Flour Mills.

Interest in plant-based omega-3 supplements is gathering momentum, according to Swisse and Vitality Wellness, as more evidence on how its unique omega-3, 6 ratios could lower cardiovascular disease risks and sustainability concerns arise.
Swisse launched its hemp seed oil softgel capsules developed with Bod Australia in March. The raw, cold-pressed hemp seed oil is said to provide both omega-3 and 6.
Vitality Wellness, on the other hand, introduced its Omega Health capsule product made from blackcurrant seed oil last year. The product subsequently took home the Omega-3 Product of the Year award during this year’s NutraIngredients-Asia awards.
Flavettes, immunity, beauty and energy: Malaysia Duopharma’s Consumer Healthcare CEO unveils growth strategies
Duopharma, the Malaysia pharma company behind the vitamin brand Flavettes, has outlined its strategies in growing the consumer healthcare business - including expanding the flagship brand across South East Asia and developing new immunity and energy products.
The company established its consumer healthcare division this year, with the aim of further engaging its consumers and retail partners.
The Bursa Malaysia-listed company currently has five dietary supplement brands.

Functional alliance: Thailand’s JuiceInnov8 and Red Bull pioneers TCP to launch immunity, cognitive and performance drinks
Thailand-based food biotech company JuiceInnov8 and national beverage giant TCP Group – the firm behind the original Red Bull - is set to roll out three reduced sugar and functional fruit juices this month.
The products will be branded as Incredible Booost and contain 50% less sugar (less than 6g/100mL) and calories (70-90kcal) compared to conventional juices.
The co-developed products are blended with various cold-pressed juices and natural extracts using JuiceInnov8’s sugar reduction technology.
