On day two, we will turn our attention to Active Lifestyle Nutrition and Protein Trends, alongside a dedicated session for Healthier Product Innovation for the mainstream market.
And on day three, we will focus on Healthy Ageing, as well as looking to future innovation opportunities through the prism of Personalisation and Emerging Tech.
Kerry, ADM and FrieslandCampina are Diamond Sponsors of the event, along with Angel Yeast, Morinaga and Sirio, which we will feature tomorrow.
Kerry's Dr Mathieu Millette will discuss 'Kerry proactive health: Pioneering microbiome health with breakthrough science'.
The abstract for the talk reads: 'The human microbiome comprises trillions of microorganisms present on the skin, in the mouth, digestive tract, and other areas of the body. These microorganisms are known to impact everything from our metabolism to immune and nervous system. Today, innovative microbial therapies are revolutionising wellbeing and quality of life. We will discuss the crucial
role of science-backed ingredients in enhancing microbiome and general health across diverse consumer needs and life stages.'
Key learnings will include:
• Understand the composition and balance of microbes residing in the human microbiome, and their effect on health.
• Explore how pre-, pro-, and postbiotics synergistically support not only a stronger digestive and immune system but also address specific health needs in children.
• Learn to leverage the latest breakthroughs in microbiome science to develop targeted microbial innovations for enhanced wellness.
ADM's Dr Richard Day will present on 'The use of a novel dual pro- and post- biotic in adults with IBS – results from a multicentre randomised placebo-controlled trial'
The abstract reads: 'Increasingly, pre-clinical and clinical research supports the importance of gut health in a wide variety of physiological systems, ranging from digestive health and immune function support to cardiovascular and mental health. ADM’s most recent clinical study uses the duo pro- and postbiotic Bifidobacterium longum ES1 in a population of adults with IBS-D. With nearly 80 % of consumers recognizing the link between digestive health and overall wellbeing (FMCG), it is not surprising this category is the largest amongst biotic products. Dr. Richard Day will walk us through main findings from this recent clinical study and the science around digestive health and postbiotics.'
Key takeaways will include:
• Review latest clinical trial data from a large multi-centre RCT.
• Explore the use of postbiotics for digestive health.
• First human clinical data for this dual pro- and post- biotic.
And FrieslandCampina's Jouke Veldman will discuss 'Empowering healthy generations: How to unlock protein and prebiotic innovation in Asia so everyone can get the most out of life, always.'
The abstract states: 'As one of the world’s fastest growing economies that’s home to both our oldest populations as well as a rising, health-conscious middle class, the Asian market offers nutrition brands a unique opportunity. And with consumers of all ages increasingly taking action to improve their physical and mental well-being, the pursuit of good health is opening up exciting avenues for innovation. This talk will look at the trends shaping the nutrition industry in Asia, and we will explore the potential for protein and prebiotic innovation to support consumers of all ages – from meeting the growing demand for holistic health solutions, to addressing the needs of increasingly active seniors.'
Key learnings include:
• Discover the latest nutrition trends, from the growing awareness of the importance of gut health in infant nutrition, to the rise of the ac-tive
ageing consumer.
• Explore the evolving Asian sports and active nutrition market – the fastest growing in the world – and how brands can create tailored,
science-backed solutions to support active lifestyles at all ages.
