Japanese cosmetics manufacturer ALMADO has launched its first Foods with Function Claims (FFC) product that contains eggshell membrane and GABA, targeting consumers with concerns regarding sleep, dry and ageing skin, and muscle loss.
Founded in 2000, the company has been actively developing and producing cosmetic products focusing on eggshell membrane, a biomaterial that is said to be increasingly gaining attention for its nutritional and pharmacological applications, including wound healing.

Meiji is launching a new product under its WELLCACAO range, which is made with the company’s proprietary cacao-based ingredient.
Called “cacao granules”, this ingredient is a powdered material made from cacao beans that have been fermented under controlled conditions to bring about reduced astringency.
It is produced using the company’s unique manufacturing process that minimises the destruction of cacao cells, thus preserving nutrients such as polyphenols and lipids.
