Pycnogenol® Reduces Risk of Post-Thrombotic Syndrome and Recurrent Thrombosis

New research shows daily supplementation with Pycnogenol®, French maritime pine bark extract may reduce the incidence of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) and recurrent thrombosis, a potentially life-threatening condition that may occur as a long-term complication of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

The expansive study tested 815 individuals at-risk of post-thrombosis or recurrent thrombosis for six years following a thrombotic event and reports showed Pycnogenol® performed better than aspirin, ticlopidine and sulodexide in the treatment of DVT and PTS symptoms.

This study builds upon previous research on Pycnogenol®'s benefits for its vein and circulation health benefits.
